1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Pink Elephant, Unipessoal Lda (“we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the States of Mind website at statesofmind.com, and the choices available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice, which explains more generally how we process personal data. A “cookie” is a small text file that a website places on your device. We use this term in this policy to include similar technologies, such as locally stored objects, that serve an equivalent purpose.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website, and the specific features you request, to function, and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include cookies used by our content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, to route traffic securely and protect the website, cookies used to keep you signed in to our community, provided through Circle.so, once you have chosen to log in, and, where enabled, cookies used by Google as a sign-in provider.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary to provide a service you have specifically requested, we do not ask for your consent to use them, although we still tell you about them here. You can block them through your browser settings, but doing so is likely to affect the operation of the website.
2.2 Analytics and Session Replay Cookies
With your consent, we use cookies to understand how visitors use our website in the aggregate, to improve its functionality and content, and to identify technical issues. These cookies are set by Amplitude, Inc., our primary analytics provider, which is configured to store data within the European Union, and by Google Analytics, which we use as a secondary analytics system.
Where enabled, Amplitude also powers Session Replay, a feature that records a masked version of your session on certain pages. Session Replay uses the most conservative masking level available, so all text and form fields are hidden, and it is switched off entirely on pages that may involve sensitive information, including login pages, community pages, assessment and quiz pages, AI Navigator pages, and support, legal and editorial forms.
Data collected through Session Replay is kept for 30 days. Other analytics data collected through these cookies is kept for up to 14 months, or the shortest period the relevant provider makes available that is consistent with these purposes. You can accept or decline these cookies through our cookie banner and can change your choice at any time as described in section 4 below.
3. How Long Cookies Last
The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on its type and provider. Session-related cookies used for security and to keep you signed in typically last for the duration of your visit or, where you choose to stay signed in, until you sign out or your session otherwise expires. Cookies associated with our analytics and Session Replay tools follow the retention periods described in section 2.2 above. Because these settings can change as our providers update their own products, the definitive, up-to-date list of cookies in use, including their names and exact duration, is available through our cookie consent tool on the website.
4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit our website, a cookie banner allows you to accept or decline cookies that are not strictly necessary, by category. You can change your choice at any time by reopening our cookie preference settings, usually available through a link in the website footer, and most browsers also allow you to block, delete or be notified about cookies through their own settings.
If you decline or later withdraw consent to a category of cookies, we will stop placing new cookies of that kind, although this may not remove cookies already stored on your device, which you can delete through your browser. Declining strictly necessary cookies through your browser may prevent parts of the website, such as community sign-in, from working correctly.
5. Do Not Track and Similar Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting or similar global privacy signal. There is no accepted industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals, and we do not currently change our processing in response to them. Instead, we provide the controls described in section 4 above so that you can manage your preferences directly with us.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in the cookies and similar technologies we use or in the law. We will post the updated version on our website with a revised effective date.
7. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, or about our use of cookies, please contact us. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed, as this is not required under Article 37 GDPR, and the contact point below handles cookie-related and other privacy questions alike. You also have the right to lodge a complaint about our use of cookies with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), our lead supervisory authority, or with the supervisory authority of the EU member state in which you live, work, or where the alleged infringement took place.
