How does States of Mind verify providers?
When someone discovers a provider through our Directory, they want to know that this person or organization is real, qualified, and serious about the work they do. That is why thorough verification sits at the heart of our platform.

Before a provider receives a Verified badge, our team reviews their identity, the services they offer, and the qualifications, licenses, or safety standards behind their work. The exact process depends on the type of provider, but the goal is always the same: to build a directory people can trust.
1. Medical care — clinics
Imagine North Star Clinic, a ketamine-assisted therapy clinic in the UK joining our Directory.
To verify a clinic like North Star, we review:
- whether it is a real operating medical organization
- whether the person contacting us represents the clinic
- clinic licenses and registration details
- physician licenses where relevant
- public information about the clinic and its services
This may include checking a regulatory ID such as a CQC registration number, matching the provider’s email to the clinic’s website domain, and clarifying details over email or a call.
Once approved, the clinic receives a Verified badge.
2. Preparation & integration — therapists and coaches
Imagine Anna, an integration therapist supporting clients before and after psychedelic experiences.
To verify a provider like Anna, we review:
- whether she is actively offering the services listed on her profile
- whether her qualifications support the work she describes
- academic degrees, certifications, and training
- membership in professional associations or public registries where available
We may also verify her website, confirm her professional email, and ask follow-up questions if needed.
Once approved, Anna receives a Verified badge.
3. Facilitators
Imagine David, a facilitator offering guided experiences and support sessions.
To verify a facilitator like David, we review:
- whether he is a real provider working in this field
- whether his training and experience match the services he offers
- relevant certificates and education
- how clearly and responsibly he presents his work
We may also review his website, verify his email domain, and speak with him directly for additional context.
Once approved, David receives a Verified badge.
4. Retreats
Imagine Solstice Retreats, a team running multi-day group experiences.
Because retreats involve multiple layers of trust and safety, their verification is more detailed. We review:
- who leads the retreat
- facilitator background and training
- whether medical support is involved
- participant screening and safety protocols
- integration support after the retreat
- legal structure and country of operation
We may also ask follow-up questions or arrange a call to clarify how the retreat is run.
Once approved, the retreat receives a Verified badge.
What providers receive after verification
Verification is not just a badge. It is a trust signal and a growth opportunity.
Once added to our platform, verified providers can receive:
- potential leads from search engines and LLMs
- collaboration opportunities with our Media through:
- written articles
- comments and expert quotes
- podcasts
- events
- social media
- participation in special projects
- stronger credibility in a trust-sensitive field

Building this industry together
This field is still being built.
Every clinic raising the standard of care, every therapist helping people prepare and integrate responsibly, every facilitator working with integrity, and every retreat team putting safety first is helping shape what this industry can become.
We are proud to support providers doing this work with care and seriousness.
