Ketamine for depression is hospital-only; in March 2026 the ANSM created a compassionate prescribing framework (CPC) covering IV ketamine for severe suicidal ideation in adults. There is effectively no private clinic market — treat any private offer with extreme caution.

Research-only; the one recruiting French psilocybin trial is a Phase 3 study at CHU Nîmes for alcohol use disorder with depressive symptoms (NCT07638553).

The national experiment (2021–2024) ended with ~700 enrolled patients kept on treatment exceptionally; the 2024 financing law created a five-year ‘cannabis-based medicine’ status, but the implementing decrees were still unpublished as of August 2026 — so no new patients can start. Recreational: strictly illegal (on-the-spot €200 fine for use — a penalty simplification, not decriminalization).
