Research-only, but the scene is real: the CYB003 Phase 3 (EMBRACE) is recruiting in Dublin (Tallaght) and Galway, and the Trinity/Tallaght group ran Ireland’s part of the landmark COMP360 trial.
No Irish MDMA trial has ever recruited, and none is open as of July 2026.
The Medical Cannabis Access Programme (regulations 2019, operational 2021) covers just three conditions — and only 74 patients were approved in its first five years; a formal review began in April 2026. A parallel Ministerial Licence route exists. Recreational: illegal; the 2024 Citizens’ Assembly recommended decriminalization, not enacted.
