NFZ drug programme B.147 has funded esketamine since 2023 — free of charge (drug, visits, observation, monitoring) at ~64 contracted centers. Criteria are narrow: ages 18–75, moderate-to-severe episode, at least 2 but no more than 5 failed antidepressants, at least a second episode lasting 6+ months; bipolar, psychotic symptoms and substance-dependence history excluded. Treatment caps at 34 weeks. Unique transparency: live first-appointment waiting times for every center on the NFZ portal, and you may enrol at any center regardless of where you live.

Off-label clinics operate legally in Warsaw, Wrocław and other large cities — self-pay, with varying screening quality.

Research-only; Polish sites took part in atai/Beckley’s BPL-003 Phase 2b (NCT05870540), and a Medical University of Warsaw psilocybin trial is publicly funded.

Cannabis is an approved pharmaceutical raw material for pharmacy-compounded preparations (act of 7 July 2017, in force 1 Nov 2017) — any physician may prescribe on a narcotic prescription; unsubsidized, all supply imported; since Nov 2024 an in-person examination is required. Recreational: illegal (prosecutors may drop small-amount cases, Art. 62a).

Polish sites active in international and domestic programmes — recruiting: Cybin CYB003 Phase 3 (Polish sites); BPL-003 Phase 2b completed; publicly funded MUW psilocybin study. Participation is free; screening is strict; never pay for “trial access”.
