Dr. Elena Deliu, PharmD, PhD
Dr. Elena Deliu, PharmD, PhD, is a neuroscientist and pharmacologist specialized in project management, clinical operations, medical affairs, and translational neurobiology. After completing 7 years in academia (as PhD student and PostDoc) she is currently Head of Clinical Operations at P&F Products & Features GmbH (Vienna), following her tenure as Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs at Brainhero GmbH (Vienna). Across industry and academia, she has led global projects, securing research funding cumulating more than 3M€ (including the prestigious EIC Accelerator grant for “Brainhero embracing neurodiversity”), conducted global clinical operations, regulatory compliance (ensuring clinical input for the CE-certification according to EU2017/745 Medical Device Regulation of two class IIa medical devices), with a track record of guiding complex interdisciplinary programs from concept to execution.
During her 7 years in academia, Dr. Deliu served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the at IST Austria and as a Research Associate (PhD Student) at the Temple University Philadelphia USA, advancing research in neuropharmacology, signal transduction, electrophysiology, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She has authored 23 peer‑reviewed publications with ~1,800 citations, including contributions to Cell on SLC7A5 and autism, Nature Neuroscience on SETD5 and cognition, Nature Chemical Biology paper on estrogen receptor involvement in depression, and multiple papers on mechanisms of G protein-coupled receptors in neuronal and cardiovascular systems. She currently mentors researchers beyond academia (EURAXESS REBECA). She holds a PhD in Pharmacology (Temple University) and a Pharmacist Degree (Carol Davila University), and maintains certifications in neurofeedback, clinical trial operations and analysis, as well as pharmacist certification and medical device advisor certification. Her current focus includes pivotal cardiovascular device trials and patient‑centric data ecosystems, exemplified by recent work presented to rare disease communities.
